Lowell Art Quilts 2009
I just received the most amazing email message informing me that Father and Mother was accepted into Lowell Art Quilts 2009! This is the first real art quilt show I've ever entered! I feel now like I can actually say, "I'm a quilter"! I'm SO EXCITED!!!
This is wonderful, CONGRATULATIONS! You have been a quilter for some time, that is for sure. The stitching on this piece is exquisite and you captured the essence of the stonework.
Thanks for the positive support! I'm totally thrilled.....but, honestly, I only started this whole "quilting" thing rather recently. In fact, I wrote a blog post about my "first" art quilt: http://artbysusanlenz.blogspot.com/2007/08/first-real-art-quilt.html. That was in August 2007....less than two years ago. I made a total of four pieces (I think) until this past fall when I started making grave rubbings and quilts from the results. Being accepted into this prestigious show simply "feels" like a great confirmation on this new form of expression and needlework!
