Madonna of the Blues, a work in progress, part two

I've stitched. I've beaded. I've back her with batting and some thick, stiff interfacing stuff (can't remember what it's called), cut her out , and turned the edges under. She's now a really big appliqué. Madonna of the Blues is now ready to audition possible backgrounds. I'd like to say I know where this project is headed...but I'm not sure! I'm thinking "frame" not "quilt". Hmmm?

(Heat transferred paints and crayon on polyester, hand stitched and beaded. Current size: 25" x 19"...finished size is anyone's best guess!)

    I almost like her as a free standing presence - she is absolutely breathtaking. What an incredible amount of texture and passion she contains. Absolutely beautiful work.

    She has such presence! I actually like her as she is right now. But who knows..adding a background might make her even more strong. Beautiful work!

    I'm intrigued by the way her expression changes from the small picture to the close up. I am in awe of the amount of work you can see in the detail. She would make a wonderful icon, have you any sheets of silver in your stash? :-)

    Truly stunning.
    I would go for framing. Something fairly simple so as not to detract from the beauty and detail of this piece of work.
