Steve and I have returned from a fabulous vacation to Vienna and Prague. I downloaded nearly 900 images from the trip and am still sorting them into folders and trying to figure out how to write a blog post that captures some of the wonders of travel and the thousands of inspirational artwork we saw. I will ... promise ... write something soon. But in the mean time, I've not neglected my studio. In Box CDXCVI was constructed, stitched, melted, mounted, framed, photographed and already taken to the Grovewood Gallery in Asheville. It went along with several other artworks. Forty Christmas ornaments were also dropped off at the Folk Art Center, one of the retail locations for the Southern Highland Guild where I am a new member.
(Above: Melting holes in the layers of polyester stretch velvet with a soldering iron.)I am actually flooded with work! It's a good thing but it is requiring time away from my vacation photos. I'll get there soon!
