Mandala CLXX

(Above:  Mandala CLXX, a commissioned Found Object Mandala. Custom framed: 17" x 17". Objects hand-stitched to a section of an antique quilt. Objects from the client include:  Several unique bracelets; a dozen wristwatches; four, tiny pocket knives; and assorted charms and beads. Objects that I added:  A gold, plastic lid; a blue casino chip; four, round prisms from a dismantled lamp; the quilt section; and buttons.  Click on either image to enlarge.)

Some projects just seem to flow perfectly together!  This was such a project!  After corresponding with a nice lady from North Carolina, I was sent a package of memorabilia.  It arrived at the most perfect time.  I had just finished everything on which I was stitching.  So ... I immediately designed the piece, stitched it, and framed it within the space of three days.  Also, it was boxed and a shipping label was created. The client paid a PayPal invoice, and now the finished artwork is on its way back to North Carolina.

I am particularly pleased by the way gold and silver finishes work wonderfully together!  What's not to like about mixed precious metals!

This is a lovely piece. I'm guessing the new owner will be thrilled. I can just image your brain wheels turning as you looked at the bits from them.
